Get Your Rocky On - MuscleEgg Review

It's the eye of the tiger it's the thrill of the fight, rising up to the challenge of our riiiiivals!

Did I even get that right? Oh well.

Last year when I was eating a plant-based diet, I was looking into plant-based proteins. My cool brother said I should check out MuscleEgg.

Hm, sounded better than the expensive, chalky-tasting pant-based proteins I had been looking into. I wasn't eating meat or dairy at the time but I hadn't kicked out eggs (breakfast is my favorite food group, duh) so I figured I'd look into it. I did, and then I forgot. Story of my life.

Flash forward to this last weekend at FitCon. Hello, giant MuscleEgg booth with free samples...

Chocolate, vanilla, strawberry... Ok, pretty basic. I walked up to the booth and asked the gorgeous gal if I could try a sample. She pushed two cups toward me and said, "These two are the most popular."

CAKE BATTER AND FRUIT CEREAL FLAVORED PROTEIN. Yeah... uh-huh.

I was expecting a thicker texture, Rocky Balboa style. I was very wrong. Rocky only dreams of drinking eggs as tasty and smooth as MuscleEgg.

My friend and I each immediately put in an order. Her, fruit cereal flavor (think fruity pebbles) and I, cake batter. Both were amazing flavors but I wanted a more versatile flavor.

Shipping was super fast, but I do live in the same state as the MuscleEgg headquarters so that might be one reason. (I do love local!) We ordered Saturday and it arrived the following Tuesday, a day earlier than expected.

The two jugs, each a gallon, came in a large, insulated box. They arrived early in the day and I didn't get home until about 7pm that night - they were still frozen. So the packaging was really great.

The First Try

I knew from FitCon that drinking MuscleEgg was great, so I put cooking with it to the test.

I heated up a bit of coconut oil in a pan then poured 1/2 cup of MuscleEgg (equal to 5 egg whites) into the pan. I intended to do some pancakes but ended up making one large, thin pancake. I topped with some peanut butter, honey, and a dash of cinnamon and rolled it up like a crepe.

Before rolling it up.

I've read a few descriptions of what heaven may be like and I'm 110% sure it is comparable to this concoction. Eat your heart out, Rocky.

You might have a few questions now, like, "Hey, crazy lady, why you drinking raw eggs?!"

Ok, I questioned myself at first, too. BUT MuscleEgg is double pasteurized and homogenized for safety and texture.

I wont get too far into the details of protein here, but MuscleEgg is probably the best protein choice out there. Now, that's quite a bold statement. The reason I say this is because I really like to know exactly what is going into my body. I do a lot of research when it comes to the supplement I take. With MuscleEgg it's just that - egg white. It's more than a supplement. It's actual food. Egg whites are one of the most complete forms of protein. No fat, no carbohydrates. Protein (and essential amino acids that your body needs).

Overall I am seriously impressed with MuscleEgg. I plan on getting the chocolate flavor soon because this is even safe for kids and Man Cub loves him some chocolate. Hello, new chocolate milk or "hulk smoothie" option!
